Why flash a ZX Moto 820 RR?
The 820 RR is a serious sport bike, and like every new model sold in many markets it leaves the factory with a calibration written for emission and noise tests. Flashing the ECU lets you set fuelling, response and limits for the road or the track, and correct the maps for an aftermarket exhaust.
ZX Moto ECU
The 820 RR uses the Bosch MSE9.0 ECU on an Infineon TC375 processor, with 6 MB of memory. It is read and written on the bench, and once read it can be written through the diagnostic connector with a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 or CANable. MSE9.0 support is an add-on.
Flashing an 820 RR, step by step
- Remove the ECU and wire it on the bench with the diagram from your MotoFlasher account, on a stable power supply.
- Read the ECU and save the original file.
- Edit the maps or load the file from your tuner.
- Write it back on the bench, or refit the ECU and write it through the diagnostic connector. MotoFlasher corrects the checksum.
Frequently asked questions
Is the ZX Moto 820 RR supported?
Yes, from 2026, on the Bosch MSE9.0 ECU.
Do I need to remove the ECU?
To read it, yes: the MSE9.0 is read on the bench. Later writes can go through the diagnostic connector.
Can I go back to the stock map?
Yes. MotoFlasher reads the full original file before writing anything, and you can write it back at any time.
