Why flash an Italjet Dragster?
The Dragster is a sport scooter with a chassis that asks for more than the stock calibration gives. Its factory map is written for emission tests: lean at small throttle openings and soft off the line. A reflash sharpens the response, corrects the fuelling after an exhaust change and lets the engine rev the way it was built to.
Italjet ECU
The 2022-onwards Dragster uses a Marelli MIU G4 ECU, the same family Piaggio uses in its scooters. It is read and written through the diagnostic connector with a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 or CANable, without removing the ECU.
Flashing a Dragster, step by step
- Keep the battery on a charger.
- Connect a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 or CANable to the diagnostic connector.
- Read the ECU and save the original file.
- Edit the maps or load the file from your tuner.
- Write it back. MotoFlasher corrects the checksum.
The same ECU is found in the Vespa, Beverly and MP3.
